Australian V8 Supercars

Congratulations to Jamie Whincup taking all 3 races in Abu Dhabi  2012!

Australian V8 Supercars Championship leader Whincup leaves Abu Dhabi 296 points ahead of Orccon Steel FPR's Mark Winterbottom, with two events to go in the Championship, Whincup says, "Until it's mathematically over I won't rest. I won't be chilling out on the back this next two weeks. I would be much more comfortable if we had one event to go. We have worked too hard this year. Not only did we get ourselves in a position to lead. To turn the tide, don't underestimate that."
The Australian V8 Supercars were out in force as support races at this year’s 2012 Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix weekend. The V8s made their mark at Yas Marina Circuit as part of the triumphant V400 series back in 2010.  This time they took on the full GP of 5.5km, having used 4.7 km in previous events.
Seeing these cars whip up the circuit is a real spectacle. If you like nail-biting racing, the grit, courage and skill of these drivers will have you on the edge of your seat.  These high performance cars are so closely matched there is more over-taking and side-by-side racing than most other motorsports series.

Off track, all the buzz of race weekend, including autograph signings brought spectators up close to their Aussie action driving heroes.  Australia's supreme pop queen, Kylie Minogue Kylie joined the concert line up, playing to a packed crowd on Friday, with Nickelback and Eminem following on Saturday and Sunday of race weekend. All 3 After Race Concerts are free with an F1 ticket!

Marina Club Upgrade and Marina Box ticket holders joined exclusive Australian V8 Paddock Walkabouts.

Back in April 2012, we welcomed Australian V8 drivers Lee Holdsworth and Craig Lowndes to Abu Dhabi and the pair took on a ‘Bucket list’ of challenges with the Yas Marina Circuit crew. The story of their awesome adventures is told in a series of short films,  kick back and watch them here.
