FAST START TO 2023 AS YAS RACING SERIES KICKS OFF THE NEW YEAR ACTION AT YAS MARINA CIRCUIT
The first weekend of on-track action in the new year marks the start of the 2023 motorsports season on Yas Island
The January Edition of this year’s Yas Racing Series features the opening round of the Gulf Radical Cup and UAE Pro Car championship in a high-speed start to 2023 in Abu Dhabi
Yas Marina Circuit, Abu Dhabi, UAE, January 6, 2023: The new year sees a fast start to the on-track action at Yas Marina Circuit as the latest round of the Yas Racing Series kicks off the motorsports season in 2023 this weekend in Abu Dhabi.
To begin the motorsports season in 2023, the January Edition of this year’s Yas Racing Series will see the opening round to a number of high-speed championships, including the UAE Pro Car category featuring the best GT cars across the emirates. This weekend will also see the opening rounds to the Gulf Radical Cup, the UAE Time Attack championship and the Clio Cup, which kick off the 2023 racing schedule on Yas Island.
The Middle East’s leading drift competition, Emirates Drift Championship, is also set to continue its 2023 season this weekend, with round two of this year’s championship opening the weekend at Yas Marina Circuit.
In round one, Ahmed Daham started the new season in style as the 2022 EDC champion finished atop the podium in the first round at the Liwa Festival in December, with the action returning the official home of drifting in the United Arab Emirates in Abu Dhabi this weekend.
Motorsports enthusiasts keen to get involved in the action can head to the Yas Kartzone for this weekend’s Arrive & Drive Competition, with prizes up for grabs for the fastest laps set around the kartzone track. With categories for all ages, ticket holders can join the free-to-enter competition at Yas Kartzone starting from 7th January.
Away from the track, motorsports fans can enjoy the full racing experience with exclusive pit lane walks running across the weekend to get a closer look behind the scenes.
