YAS MARINA CIRCUIT HONOURS CHARLIE WHITING WITH MEMORIAL PLAQUE
Yas Marina Circuit, Abu Dhabi, 30 November, 2019: Yas Marina Circuit yesterday honoured much-loved former F1® Race Director Charlie Whiting with a commemorative plaque located outside the Driver’s Briefing Room in Race Control.
Al Tareq Al Ameri, CEO of Yas Marina Circuit, accompanied by Deputy CEO, Saif Al Noaimi, unveiled the plaque at a small ceremony attended by the Formula 1® 2019 drivers, including Lewis Hamilton, Kimi Räikkönen and Daniel Ricciardo.
Charlie Whiting sadly passed away during the Melbourne Grand Prix earlier this year having spent 40 years working in the motorsport industry.
